The Dona Carmen association is calling for the establishment of a boarding house for sex workers in Frankfurt to address precarious housing situations. The pandemic has brought to light the issue of women’s housing situation, and some have been forced to offer their services in the informal sector.
The facility, which should not offer sexual services, could provide registered addresses and counseling services, and sex workers and brothels could contribute financially. The association urges the city government to take action, as a boarding house would provide a safe and supportive environment for sex workers to live and work in, and would also help in the fight against human trafficking and sexual exploitation.
